The Executive Chairman of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service (DSIRS) and National Chairman of the OSU Political Forum, Hon. Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, has charged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to intensify their grassroots mobilisation and campaign efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging them to sell the party’s candidates and ideals to the electorate.
Ighrakpata made the call on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the elaborate Uvwie Ward 1 Congress held in Uvwie Town, Effurun.
Addressing party faithful at the congress, he said politicians must possess the ability to convince the people, urging members to campaign rigorously towards securing victory for all APC candidates.
According to him, “As a politician, you must have the power to convince. We must campaign rigorously, geared towards the victory of all APC candidates.”
He further charged members to take the party’s message beyond the meeting hall and into their various Units.
“Sell all our APC candidates to the masses. Preach the gospel to your friends and families to see reason to work with our party. Tell them the need to support us so they can key into the project,” he added.
Ighrakpata emphasised that unity remained essential if the party was to achieve victory in 2027.
He advised the leadership and members of Ward 1 to work in synergy for effective mobilisation and delivery, noting that the strength of the party at the ward level would be critical to its overall performance.
Leaders and stakeholders of Uvwie Ward 1 who spoke at the congress reaffirmed their commitment to delivering a 5/5 victory for the APC in the 2027 elections.
Earlier, party faithful raised issues affecting their respective units, which were subsequently addressed by the party leaders.
