The Executive Chairman of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service, Hon. Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, has extended warm felicitations to Muslims in Delta State, Nigeria, and across the world as they celebrate Eid al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice.
In his message, Ighrakpata described Eid al-Adha as a sacred reminder of the enduring lessons of faith, obedience, and selflessness demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Ismail (AS). He noted that the festival goes beyond ritual sacrifice, calling on all to embrace its deeper meaning of service to God and humanity.
“Eid al-Adha teaches us that true faith is tested through sacrifice and submission to the will of the Almighty. It is a time to reflect on our duty to one another, to extend hands of kindness to the poor and vulnerable, and to commit ourselves to building a society anchored on peace, justice, and mutual respect,” he said.
The DSIRS boss urged Muslim faithful to use the occasion to offer special prayers for peace, security, and economic recovery in Delta State and Nigeria. He emphasized that national progress requires collective sacrifice and unity across religious and ethnic lines.
“As we celebrate, let us remember that the strength of our state and nation lies in our diversity and our ability to live together in harmony. I call on all Deltans to uphold the values of tolerance, forgiveness, and compassion that Eid al-Adha represents,” Ighrakpata added.
He also commended the Muslim community in Delta for their continued contributions to the socio-economic development of the state, noting their role in promoting peaceful coexistence and community development.
Ighrakpata reaffirmed the state government’s commitment, under the M.O.R.E Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, to creating an enabling environment where all citizens, regardless of faith, can thrive and contribute to the state’s growth.
“On behalf of my family and the entire management and staff of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service, I congratulate all Muslims on this blessed occasion. May Allah accept your sacrifices, forgive your shortcomings, and grant you and your families peace, good health, and abundant blessings,” he prayed.
