The Executive Chairman,  Delta State Internal Revenue Service and National Chairman of OSU Political Forum, Hon. Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, has described the peace, unity and development being witnessed in Uvwie Kingdom as evidence of God’s faithfulness and blessings upon the people.

Ighrakpata stated this during the 2026 Uvwie Praise Day celebration, held on October 1, where sons and daughters of Uvwie Kingdom, residents, traditional rulers, political leaders, religious ministers, business leaders and other distinguished guests gathered to offer praises and prayers for the kingdom.

The annual celebration, organised by the Uvwie Indigenous Ministers Forum of Nigeria, provided an opportunity for the people to reflect on the journey of Uvwie Kingdom, appreciate God for His protection and blessings, and pray for continued peace, progress and prosperity.

Ighrakpata, who joined the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Emmanuel Sideso, JP (OON), Abe I, and other dignitaries at the event, said the gathering was a significant reminder of the importance of giving thanks to God for the progress recorded in the kingdom.

According to him, the relative peace and harmony enjoyed in Uvwie have created an environment conducive to development, investment and meaningful economic activities.

He commended the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, the Council of Chiefs, religious leaders, community leaders and residents for their contributions towards sustaining peace and unity across the kingdom.

Ighrakpata also called on sons and daughters of Uvwie, as well as non-indigenes residing in the kingdom, to continue to promote peaceful coexistence, unity and mutual respect, stressing that the collective progress of Uvwie depends on the commitment of everyone to the peace and development of the kingdom.

He said the annual Praise Day should not only be seen as a religious gathering but also as an opportunity for the people to reflect on their shared heritage, appreciate the progress made and commit themselves to building a more peaceful and prosperous Uvwie.

The Revenue service Boss expressed appreciation to the organisers, particularly the Chairman of the Uvwie Indigenous Ministers Forum of Nigeria, Bishop (Dr.) Felicia Ileleji, and members of the forum, for sustaining the annual thanksgiving and prayer programme.

He also commended the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom and Her Royal Majesty, Patricia Sideso, for their continued commitment to the unity and wellbeing of the kingdom.

Ighrakpata joined other participants in praying for the Ovie and Royal Family, members of the Council of Chiefs, political leaders, youths, religious leaders, investors, families and the future of Uvwie children.

He further prayed for continued peace, prosperity and development in Uvwie, urging the people to remain united and supportive of initiatives aimed at advancing the kingdom.

Earlier, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Emmanuel Sideso, JP (OON), Abe I, who served as Royal Father of the Day, expressed gratitude to Almighty God for the peace, progress and transformation being witnessed across the kingdom.

The monarch declared: “God has more to give Uvwie Kingdom,” while urging indigenes and residents to continue living together peacefully and harmoniously.

He also called for prayers for peaceful elections in 2027 and expressed appreciation to the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, for the developmental strides of his administration.
